LeadNotes Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 2026
LeadNotes is a Chrome extension that helps users save private notes, tags, statuses, and follow-up dates for LinkedIn profile URLs they manually choose to save. LeadNotes is an independent tool and is not affiliated with LinkedIn.
1. Information we collect
LeadNotes collects and stores information needed to provide its core user-facing features: saving and managing private notes for profile URLs, syncing data across devices, and improving the product.
Account information
- Email address, through Supabase Auth
- Authentication status and session information required to keep you signed in
Lead data you save manually
- Saved LinkedIn profile URLs
- Manually entered display names
- Manually entered headlines
- Manually entered companies
- Private notes
- Tags
- Status values
- Follow-up dates
- Created and updated timestamps
Optional account, usage, and billing profile information
During beta, LeadNotes may allow you to optionally provide account and future billing information, including:
- Full name
- Account type, such as individual or company
- Usage type, such as student, personal, freelancer, business, recruiter, headhunter, sales, agency, or other
- Role or title
- Company name
- Company registration number
- Tax ID
- VAT ID
- Billing email
- Billing address
- Company size
- Optional intended-use notes
These optional fields are used for account management, future invoicing or billing preparation, and product understanding. They are not required to use the core beta version of LeadNotes unless specifically stated in the app.
Current tab URL and title
When you use the extension popup, LeadNotes may read the current tab URL and tab title to help prefill editable fields, such as the profile URL or a suggested display name. This happens only when you open the extension popup and is limited to the user-facing feature of saving a profile note.
LeadNotes does not read the page DOM, does not scrape profile content, does not read LinkedIn cookies, and does not collect browsing history in the background.
Privacy-safe product usage events
LeadNotes may collect limited product usage events to understand and improve the app. These events may include actions such as opening the popup, opening the dashboard, creating, updating, or deleting a lead, exporting or importing JSON, deleting all leads, changing dark mode, changing shortcut settings, or saving account profile settings.
Product usage events do not include LinkedIn profile URLs, normalized profile URLs, tab titles, display names, headlines, companies, notes, tags, follow-up dates, email addresses, billing details, passwords, tokens, cookies, browsing history, search text, keystrokes, click coordinates, or page content.
LeadNotes does not use third-party analytics providers in the extension. Product usage events are stored in Supabase and are used only for product functionality, product improvement, debugging, security, and abuse prevention.
2. Information we do not collect
LeadNotes does not collect or store:
- LinkedIn passwords
- LinkedIn session cookies
- LinkedIn authentication tokens
- Scraped LinkedIn profile content
- LinkedIn messages
- Automated LinkedIn activity
- Payment card information
- Health information
- Browsing history collected in the background
- Personal communications outside information you manually enter into LeadNotes
3. How we use information
LeadNotes uses collected information only to provide, secure, and improve its single purpose and user-facing features:
- Creating and managing your LeadNotes account
- Saving and syncing your leads across devices
- Displaying your private notes, tags, statuses, and follow-up dates
- Allowing JSON export and import of your saved lead data
- Preparing optional billing profile information for future invoicing support
- Understanding basic product usage through privacy-safe product events
- Maintaining security, debugging issues, preventing abuse, and complying with legal obligations
LeadNotes does not use your saved lead data or product usage events for advertising, retargeting, interest-based advertising, or unrelated monetization purposes.
4. How we share information
LeadNotes does not sell your personal data. LeadNotes does not transfer your personal or sensitive user data to third parties for advertising, retargeting, interest-based advertising, creditworthiness, lending, or unrelated monetization.
LeadNotes may share or process data only in the following limited cases:
- Service providers: LeadNotes uses Supabase for authentication, cloud database storage, and product event storage.
- Legal compliance: if required to comply with applicable laws, legal processes, or enforceable governmental requests.
- Security and abuse prevention: if necessary to protect LeadNotes, users, or the public from security threats, fraud, or abuse.
- Business transfer: if LeadNotes is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, user data may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy or a successor policy.
5. Chrome Web Store Limited Use disclosure
LeadNotes uses personal and sensitive user data only to provide or improve the extension’s single purpose and user-facing features. LeadNotes does not use or transfer user data for personalized advertising, retargeting, interest-based advertising, unrelated monetization, creditworthiness, or lending purposes.
LeadNotes does not allow humans to read user data except where necessary for user-requested support, security purposes, legal compliance, or internal operations using aggregated or privacy-safe information.
6. Data security
LeadNotes transmits personal and sensitive user data over secure connections using HTTPS. LeadNotes uses Supabase for authentication and cloud storage. Supabase provides infrastructure-level security controls, including secure transmission and database access controls.
No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but LeadNotes is designed to minimize permissions and avoid collecting unnecessary data.
7. Permissions
LeadNotes requests only the permissions needed for its current features. Depending on the version installed, these may include permissions such as:
- storage: used for local extension preferences such as theme and shortcut settings.
- tabs or activeTab: used to read the current tab URL and title only when the user opens the extension popup, so LeadNotes can identify the profile URL the user is manually saving.
- commands: used to support optional keyboard shortcut behavior managed by Chrome.
LeadNotes does not request permissions to read LinkedIn cookies, does not request LinkedIn credentials, and does not use content scripts to scrape LinkedIn pages.
8. Data retention
LeadNotes keeps your saved lead data, optional profile information, and product usage events for as long as your account is active or until the data is deleted according to available product controls or applicable retention practices.
You can delete saved leads from the LeadNotes dashboard. Full account deletion is planned as a production feature and will be handled through a secure server-side process.
9. Access, export, and deletion
You can:
- View your saved leads in the LeadNotes dashboard
- Edit or delete individual leads
- Export saved lead data as JSON
- Delete all saved leads from the dashboard
- Edit optional account and billing profile information in settings
For account deletion or privacy questions, contact us using the email address listed below.
10. Payments
LeadNotes does not currently process payments. Pro features may be shown as “coming soon.” If payments are added later, this policy will be updated before payment processing is launched.
11. AI
LeadNotes does not use AI in the current MVP.
12. Children
LeadNotes is not intended for children. Users should not use LeadNotes if they are not legally permitted to create an account or use browser extensions in their jurisdiction.
